Between March and April, the Easter celebrations signal the beginning of a season rich in events in Umbria. Some examples:

National Antique Market Exhibition in Assisi

Assisi antique market: enthusiasts can visit the national exhibition market “Assisi Antiquariato” held at the Bastia Umbra exhibition centre from 20 April to 1 May. It represents a unique opportunity to admire precious objects and works of art from major Italian and foreign galleries.

Umbrian crafts are showcased in Todi from 20 April to 1 May at the Sala delle Pietre in the Palazzi Comunali. You will be taken on a wonderful journey to the heart of traditional Umbrian crafts, with wrought iron objects, marquetry, ceramics, embroidery and much more.

Meanwhile, in the historic buildings and churches of Perugia, magnificent concerts are held for the International Festival “Musica dal Mondo”. A rich, varied repertoire ranging from sacred to classical and folk music is performed by youth choirs and orchestras from all over the world.

Tulip Festival in Castiglione del Lago

To conclude the month of Umbrian events on a lighter note, we recommend the Castliglione del Lago Tulip Festival from 10 to 14 April. A true tribute to springtime, the festival features a procession of allegorical floats completely covered in tulip petals, a historic parade evoking the renaissance court of Marquis Asciano della Corgna as well as a wealth of other diversions such as costumed games, bands, flag throwers, etc.

Before leaving the magnificent Umbrian lakeside town, we recommend a stop at a tavern where you can enjoy excellent dishes from the Lake Trasimeno area and immerse yourself in the town’s celebratory atmosphere. Meanwhile, those who have had their fill of sounds and colours can enjoy the wonderful landscape of Castiglione del Lago during a panoramic lakeside walk.
