February is without doubt the month of Norcia, a city in the Appenines between Umbria and Le Marche renowned in Italy and throughout the world for its cured meats and the Umbrian black truffles that abound in its mountains.

Norcia Black Truffle Festival

The delicious “Nero Norcia” Umbrian truffle festival invites you to spend two weekends delighting your taste buds in a friendly atmosphere within the magnificent setting of the city of San Benedetto.

Fully immersed in the local gastronomy, you can discover a wealth of local produce such as Norcia’s black truffles and ham, lentils from Castelluccio, cheeses, spelt and, last but by no means least, chocolate!

This very Umbrian festival also features cultural events and entertainment with photo exhibitions, performances in the piazza and demonstrations of historic professions such as the art of producing cured meats and wrought ironwork.

St. Valentine’s day in Terni

This is also the month of lovers and Terni, the city of Saint Valentine, becomes the other protagonist of Umbria in February.

Following a solemn mass in the morning, the festivities continue with the Fiera di San Valentino and other accompanying events such as the distribution of postcards franked for the occasion, an unmissable appointment for those with a passion for stamp collecting!
